The Artist
Caroline Vaughn Jarosz is a born and raised 4th generation Texan; inspired by local vernacular, plants, and animals. The granddaughter of a Texas landscape artist, Caroline grew up around art and painted skulls nonetheless.
Her first painted cow skull was painted for herself in an effort to bring a little Texas to her college room at The Savannah College of Art and Design where she completed a Master of Architecture. Her time at SCAD was also where she completed her first life-size horse painting; a component of her thesis.
Caroline also owns and operates Sport & Country and Overbrook Co. with her husband in Fredericksburg, TX.
Whether the “canvas” is bone, fur, cotton, or linen, each original work of art is a tribute to the respect and dignity deserved by both land and animals.
The Art
Caroline’s collection of work is a blend of the archival and the fanciful into the physical expression of rustic-luxe.
Her love of art and animals is a treasured homage to family and life. Each painted skull is an artistic tribute to an animal that served a vital purpose on this earth. No animals are harmed in the production of these works of art.
Caroline’s art has been enjoyed by many over the years. Included is the created art works for Chip Gaines and Kendra Scott for their personal collections.
